The All Share Price Index gained 8.9 points to close at 3,706.7 points (+0.2%), whilst the Milanka Price Index also gained 29.6 points to close at 4,269.2 points (+0.7%).
The total turnover was LKR1,509.4 mn (USD13,167 k) vs. 12-months average daily turnover of LKR730.3 mn (USD6,370 k) whilst the volume traded for the day was 95,995 k against the 12-months average daily volume of 23.640 k.
Top traded counters were Asia Capital LKR334.8 mn (USD2,921k, +7.9%), Environmental Resources LKR143.6 mn (USD1,253, +20.2%), Environmental Resources (Warrants 2011) LKR111.5 mn (USD973k,+19.8%), Hatton National Bank LKR99.4 mn (USD867 k, +0.0%) and Environmental Resources (Warrants 2010) LKR83.8 mn (USD731 k, +18.4%).
The market regained momentum after its slight consolidation yesterday and closed on a positive today. Asia Capital witnessed strategic stake of around 30% changing hands and the counter contributed circa 22% of the day's turnover. Retail and high net worth interest was visible in the ordinary shares and the two warrants of Environmental Resources which collectively contributed to an additional circa of 22% of the day's turnover.
Hatton National Bank and LIOC attracted high institutional interest whilst Seylan Merchant Bank traded on the back of retail and high net worth interest.∙ Foreign purchases amounted to LKR408.3 mn (USD3,562k), whilst foreign sales amounted to LKR548.8mn (USD4,787k).
Market capitalization is at LKR1,19.3 bn.YTD performance is 9.2%.
